Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM)

The culture is much more different due to the variety of people of different cities. Here people are very open-minded. Being at UC Berkeley made me have a broader perspective in life. On the other hand, I really like how it is a very diverse community. I chose Berkeley, because it is such a prestigious university and the bay area is beautiful, plus you get to have a city like San Francisco just 30 minutes away.

My BISP experience was incredible, and it helped me grow personally and professionally to reach important milestones in my young career. As a climate leader and advocate for social and economic development, I participated in two research projects with renowned faculty at UC Berkeley, and I had the opportunity to implement these research projects to my home country, Honduras. Despite the changes due to the pandemic, the BISP program made me feel as part of the Berkeley community, and I have kept in touch with many of the friends that I met through the program. I recommend the BISP program for all high-achieving international students who are looking to study in one of the world’s most prestigious universities, as it is a fulfilling challenge that will broaden your horizons in a truly historical yet progressive community.
